The Goldziher Prize awards journalists and creators who tell powerful stories of solidarity between Jews and Muslims — because within every conflict is a story of people striving for resolution.
Today, narratives and discourse about Muslims and Jews are overwhelmingly shaped by trauma, violence, and deep polarization. To make matters worse, Islamophobia and Antisemitism are on the rise. That is why the Goldziher Prize is seeking stories and opinion pieces that highlight the complex yet constructive relationships that do exist between individuals, communities, and nations. Vital examples are often overlooked, narrowing our understanding of the broader picture.
This year, the Goldziher Prize invites submissions that, even when covering bombs, blood, and bad news, also make space for detailed reporting on diplomacy and the impact of artistic, social, religious, or educational engagement. Our goal is to spark curiosity, surface shared concerns, and bring to light fuller, more accurate narratives. This approach may help us hold complexity—ambiguity and contradiction—in both hands.
Inspired by the legacy of Ignác Goldziher, we are awarding monetary prizes to journalists and digital creators—anywhere in the world—who bring fresh perspectives on the current relationships between individual Muslims and Jews, communities, or nations. The Goldziher Prize continues to honor journalistic excellence.
In 2026, the Goldziher Prize will partner with the Making Peace Visible Story Awards to support journalism that highlights peacemaking as a central narrative in conflict reporting.
